WM06 BUS COMPANY CHANGE Please note that from January 2025, the bus company will be changing from AC Williams to Sleafordian Coaches. Sleafordian will be honouring the AC Williams passes until the remainder of the academic year.

CHRISTMAS DINNER AND ACCESSORY DAY Just a reminder that tomorrow, Thursday 19th December 2024,is Christmas dinner and accessory day. We are inviting students to wear either a Christmas jumper or one Christmas themed item. Aside from this item, children should be in full school uniform. Please note that no other food options will be available on this day. If your child is not having Christmas dinner, they will need to bring a packed lunch.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS SCHOOL PRODUCTION Show week is here!! We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Annual School Production, Little Shop of Horrors! A few reminders: The show will start at 7pm Please remember to bring your tickets with you, unless you are collecting them on the door Raffle tickets, Programmes and Refreshments will be available to purchase We now take cash and contactless payments! We also have some tickets remaining so if you are still interested in watching the show, please contact us!

YEAR 7 GIRLS RUGBY Students took part in their first ever rugby festival, with all of them being complete beginners to the sport! Thanks to the coaches at Newark Rugby Club, they soon learnt the necessary rules and techniques, and then applied these into small sided games. Despite the cold weather, all students demonstrated outstanding levels of resilience, well done!

PRIMARY SCHOOL TOUR The Little Shop of Horrors Cast were out and about on Monday, conducting workshops for our local Primary Schools including Welbourn, Bassingham and Caythorpe! They are doing us proud!

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION Every year we hold a Christmas Party at school for OAP residents from the local community and when Alan told us he was celebrating being 91 years young on Tuesday, the Sixth Formers wanted to surprise him and take him some extra birthday presents! During their lunch time they visited the care home to deliver his presents and have a chat! Happy Birthday Alan

CHANGE OF PC COACHES BUS TIMETABLE There have been timetable amendments to some of the home to school transport routes. Following parental concerns initially linked to availability of seats and latterly regarding the length of some of the routing, PC Coaches have reviewed the affected routes and made further amendments. PC Coaches are hopeful that the new timetables will provide a suitable solution in terms of travel time, which is comparable to previous timetables operating along the routes. The below timetables have been submitted to the DfT and come into force following the Christmas break on the 6th January 2025.

EXAMINATION CERTIFICATES The long-awaited examination certificates for our Year 11 Leavers of 2024 are now available for collection from School Reception during working hours (08.00 and 16.00) between Monday 2nd and Thursday 19th December. PLEASE NOTE - Anyone collecting certificates on a student's behalf (including siblings currently attending the school) will need a copy of their written authorisation, we are unable to release certificates without this. Collections after the above window can be requested by emailing exams@swracademy.org. Postage can be arranged on payment of charges - to provide adequate replacement certificate cover, these are approx. £8. Please email exams@swracademy.org if you'd like to use this option. In line with statutory guidance we will only retain certificates for 1 year, after which time they will be destroyed. Replacements are available direct from the exam boards at costs of approx. £50 per certificate.

CAREER TALK OPPORTUNITY Do you have an interesting job? Would you like to inspire young people by sharing your career story with them?
