Our intention is that, when students leave SWRA, they do so with the knowledge, understanding and emotions to be able to play an active role in today's society. We want our students to have high aspirations, a belief in themselves and a confidence in sharing their own thought anything is possible if they put their minds to it.
Within the PSHE curriculum sits RSE. Relationships and Sex Education at SWRA aims to support young people through their physical, emotional and moral development from childhood to adolescence and into adulthood. We believe that Relationship and Sex Education is an essential part of a broad and balanced curriculum.
It is delivered to all students and is planned alongside the DFE statutory guidance on Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education which is taken from Section 80A of the Education Act 2002 and section 403 of the Education Act 1996. This guidance replaces the Sex and Relationship Education guidance (2000).
