ATTENBOROUGH HOUSE DAY Attenborough House celebrated the legend that is Sir David Attenborough on Friday, ahead of us 99th birthday this week, with a sea of green across school and hundreds of house points on offer. 7A won the Guess the Explorer Quiz £300 was raised at the bake sale for the WWF charity. Crab football was won by Windrush Human hungry hippos was won by Windrush Junk modelling was won by Attenborough Donkey derby was won by Robertson Animal crossing was won by Seacole Race Across the World was won by Attenborough Just Dance was won by Attenborough Mindfulness activities was won by Attenborough Cinema viewings of Attenborough documentaries were very popular This means the results from Attenborough Day were: 1st – Seacole (424) 2nd – Windrush (395) 3rd – Attenborough (368) 4th – Robertson (280) Congratulations to the Attenborough Ambassador Team for organising and running a wonderful day!

TRANSPORT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS OF LINCOLNSHIRE PUPILS MOVING TO POST 16 EDUCATION IN SEPTEMBER 2025 All young people moving into post 16 education and who require school or college transport must make a new transport application, even if they are staying at the same school. Applications can be made online at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/school-college-transport. The transport application should be made as soon as possible and preferably before 31 May. Please be advised that there is a charge for post 16 transport provision. If you have any queries about school transport please contact the transport team at schooltransportapplications@lincolnshire.gov.uk

LINCOLNSHIRE CHILDREN STARTING SECONDARY SCHOOL IN SEPTEMBER 2025 If your child is transferring to secondary school in September 2025 they may be eligible for school transport. If you think your child is eligible please apply for transport no later than 31 May. Early transport applications are encouraged to ensure that transport is in place in time for the start of the September term. Applications can be made online at the website below. ATTENBOROUGH HOUSE DAY Just a reminder that on Friday 2nd May we will be celebrating Attenborough House! Students from Attenborough House are invited to wear non-uniform with one green item (a T-shirt / top ideally). Attenborough students who do not wish to wear anything in green should wear school uniform as usual. Non-uniform should be worn with the professional school environment in mind i.e. no crop tops, short skirts, offensive slogans or long nails. Please note that students not in Attenborough house should be in full school uniform. Each house will have their own separate house day. There will be activities throughout the day for all students to take part in to help celebrate Attenborough House and a cake sale at break (cash, card and QR payments accepted) to raise money for World Wildlife Fund.

SCHOOL MENTAL HEALTH AWARD Last term, Sir William Robertson Academy were awarded the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools 'School Mental Health Award' - Bronze Status. This award recognises the hard work and dedication of all of our staff in supporting the Mental Health and Wellbeing of all our staff and pupils within our school community. Special mention must go to Miss Breward who brought together the evidence required for this award over the past year. We have exciting plans to continue to develop our provision within the school, and this is the first step in that journey!

HOUSE CUP RESULTS On the final day of term, all students and staff came together to watch the first ever Handover Assembly, Lip Sync Battle and House Cup results. The Handover Assembly gave us chance to thank the outgoing Head Students for all their work over the past year to better SWRA and represent the student body, and the outgoing House Captains, Deputy House Captains and House Representatives who have helped shape the House System in its first year. We also welcomed in our new Head Students, Emily and Dylan who are excited to run School Council this year, and announced the results of House Elections to welcome our new House Captains and House Ambassadors. We know they are going to be great! The Lip Sync battle was the final House Event of the year, and saw a combined Dancing Queen showcase from Seacole, Windrush and Robertson, whilst Attenborough gave a stellar rendition of Katy Perry's Roar! The performances were judged by SLT, with Attenborough 1st, Seacole 2nd, Windrush 3rd and Robertson 4th. This was combined with House Points from the whole year, to crown the first House Champions under our new House system. Final results were: 4th – Robertson (53,371 points) 3rd – Seacole (55,269 points) 2nd – Windrush (58,963 points) 1st – Attenborough (61,352 points) Congratulations Attenborough! The points have now been reset, and the competition starts again for the new House Year!

SWRA MAKE IT TO ANTARCTICA ONCE AGAIN Members of the Geography Club entered the British Antarctic Survey's competition to create a flag and send it to the most remote continent. We have been successful again and due to the amount of submissions from KS3 students, we submitted two flags and both have made it! They have been on an epic 8 week journey on board the RRS Sir David Attenborough and are pictured here with Dr Sally Thorpe. They have travelled from Punta Arenas in Chile to South Georgia then to the South Sandwich Islands and the South Orkney Islands before going back to South Georgia and ending in the Falkland Islands. The pictures below were taken at South Georgia!
